Christmas Week and the New Year bring variations to the City’s standard operations, with offices closed December 25 and either Christmas Eve (12/24) or Thursday (12/26), as well as Wednesday, 1/1/2025. The City Clerk’s Office in the City Complex will be open for all business days except Christmas and New Year’s Day. Additional modifications include: 

Free Transfer Station and Landfill Weekend

December’s free dump weekend is scheduled for Saturday, 12/23, from 8:30 am to 3:30 p.m. and Sunday, 11/24, from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.

Building Closures

• The Lamar Community Building and Public Works Building will be closed Christmas Eve, 12/24, Christmas Day, 12/25, and New Year's Day, 1/1/2025. 
• The Lamar Public Library will close at 12:00 p.m. Christmas Eve, 12/24 through Thursday, 12/26. The Library will also be closed on New Year’s Day, Wednesday, 1/1/2025.

Residential Trash Pick-up

• Residential Trash Pick-up will remain the same for Christmas Week and New Year’s Week. 

Commercial Trash Pick-up

• Christmas Week 
  • Wednesday (12/25) trash pick-up will be collected on Tuesday, 12/24. 
  • The remainder of the week will remain the same. 
• New Year’s Week
  • Wednesday (1/1) trash pick-up will be collected on Tuesday, 12/31. 
  • The remainder of the week will remain the same. 

Cardboard Route

• Wednesday route will be collected Thursday, 12/26. 

Landfill

• Open on Tuesday, 12/24 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The Landfill will be closed Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Additional requirements and information are available at www.ci.lamar.co.us/landfill.
