Karsten Buller

Karsten plans to attend Fort Hays Tech Northwest to earn an associate's degree in construction trade. He plans to bring his skills back to southeastern Colorado to run a general contracting business.

Tailee Weeks-Johnson

Tailee plans to attend Morgan Community College this fall to earn her associates of applied science in radiology.  After completion and upon graduation, she plans to start working immediately.

Connor Lynch

Connor plans to work full-time and be a full-time online student at Lamar Community College.  Connor also wants to be a productive adult that supports his local community, stays close to his family, and saves money in order to travel and set himself up for long-term stability.

Eric Murdock

Eric plans to attend Colorado State University-Pueblo to earn his bachelor’s degree in business management. After graduation, he plans to have a finance-based business where he can apply his interests. 

CSU-Pueblo Distinguished Merit Scholarship $5,000--renewable for four years, for a total of $20,000

Jaden Self

Jaden plans to work for Kiowa County Road & Bridge and attain his CDL. After he makes a comfortable amount of money, he wants to get an apprenticeship in order to train to, one day, become a journeyman lineman.

Lexi Shotton

Lexi plans to attend West Texas A&M to get her bachelor’s degree in exercise science.  She then plans to either become an Occupational or Physical Therapist. 

West Texas A & M Merit Scholarship $8,000/year renewable for four years for a total of $32,000

Johnathan Vasquez 

Johnathan plans to continue learning about day-trading and finance.  He hopes to build a successful business career in the future where he can utilize his interests in marketing and sales.

Kara Wilson

Kara plans to attend the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs to get her Bachelor of Science in nursing. After earning her registered nursing degree, she hopes to one day become a traveling nurse. 

UCCS Merit Scholarship- $2,500 per year up to $10,000 for four years.  Because Kara was a Boettcher Semi-finalist, UCCS has offered her an additional scholarship of $2500 per year up to $10,000 for a total of $20,000 over four years

Sheriffs of Colorado Scholarship of Kiowa County- $500

Zonta Club of Prowers County Open Award- $150

SECO all-star scholarship- $500

MAKS Scholarship- $1000 a year for four years for a total of $4,000

Weisbrod Health Employee Fund Scholarship- $500

ZONTA Club of Prowers County Young Women in Leadership Award - $1,250.  Kara’s application will also be sent on to the state level and could go as far as an international award if she continues to be selected and awarded additional award monies

Shaine Winder

Shaine plans to attend Northeastern Junior College in Sterling to get an associate’s degree in industrial Automation so that he may become a Wind Turbine Technician. His institutional scholarships are still pending until after June 1st.
