Lamar Community College Rodeo’s Nate Hoey earned the top spot in bull riding at the Colorado State University Skyline Stampede College Rodeo held recently in Fort Collins.

Hoey, a freshman from Montrose, won the long-go on Friday night with 83 points, followed by a winning 81 point ride Saturday to clinch the victory.  Hoey now stands in fourth place in the Central Rocky Mountain Region standings; only twenty points stand between him and the third-place spot.

LCC’s Tacie Canfield also performed well, leading the women’s team with an eighth-place finish in breakaway roping.

LCC Rodeo is off until April 20-22, when they will travel to Wyoming for the Casper College Rodeo.
